Today is unload and setup day for the Bayou Regionals at the Pontchartain Center in Kenner, LA. Mandeville High School’s FIRST Robotics Team 2992 will be competing with the robot they built on March 22nd & 23rd. This robot is simply amazing!!!

My high school freshman, Scott, has always been a little engineer and builder (like his dad). This team truly sparked his interest and he has enjoyed being a part of it. If Minecraft were a major, he would be all over that. But this, is hands-on building experience with wonderful mentors from NASA. The whole team worked very hard to build the robot, write grants and fulfill the portion of their online media presence development. I was very pleased, when I was asked to come aboard and mentor this small online media team (which will be huge next year) who created their own graphics, website, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Google Plus. By the time I came on board, most was already done! I take none of the credit, but look forward to being someone they can bounce their ideas off in the future.

These kids are waaaay smarter than me – but that is just fine by me! I love being around such great kids and my company Kickify has even become a sponsor for them (can’t wait to see my logo on a shirt).

THEY NEED MORE SPONSORS AND MENTORS TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN FOR NEXT YEAR!!! Hit them up mandevillerobotics at g mail dot com

Look at this amazing website that was done 100% by the students!
