Memorial Day was not a quiet day at home for The Princess of Positive. The kiddos and myself (veteran hubby was out golfing) went to the Memorial Day ceremony in Slidell in the AM. We got home and were getting ready for our company at 3:30, when I got an e-mail from WWL TV, Bigad Shiban about conducting a Soldiers’ Angels interview in the afternoon. He ended up coming over my house with a camera guy (sorry – didn’t get his name) and they taped a long segment about Soldiers’ Angels. I had every freaking interruption possible while they were taping!! UGH!!! They even taped the rugmonsters and their friends frolicking in the pool for Memorial Day footage (nice belch son #1).Geesh!

I know I mentioned to y’all that I was working on creating a coffee house in Iraq this past March & April – well they had their grand opening last week. Stupid me – was unable to open the video on my Mac until Bigad figured it out! I hope you all enjoy the video like I did (lip biting and tear holding back for me). So much work and soooo worth every second!!!

  1. Hey, Greta!! Got a bit teary-eyed myself with this since I did my little part.

I’ve got a whole bag of Beanie Babies if they need more!! Just let me know. Got them in a bag of plush from a coworker (couldn’t bring myself to throw them last year) and I’m sure he’d be thrilled if they go to such a worthy cause.

  2. Thanks Don – so many people helped make this happen!

Debii V – you are a true Angel!

CA Marks – not yet – but thanks for the linky love

Maybayouvieux – doesn’t that just give you warm fuzzies?

  3. Thank you for all your hard work, Greta!! Truly amazing! My husband will be volunteering to go to Iraq for 6 months next year and he LOVES his coffee. I know he will appreciate this.
    ;O)

  4. Greta !
You certainly mobilized Louisiana & all the good people there. Am so proud of you & all the folks who helped get the soldiers their own place to feel at home in. Will you please let your mom & dad know if you decide to run for politics. Not too sure what you will do next. It will benefit others; we know that. You are one little “ball of fire” we are very proud of. Thanks for being you.
    Love, Mom
