Leaving first thing in the AM with the dog and the kids. Hubby wants to stick it out as long as possible. Every house around us is boarded up but ours grrrrrr….. and there are way too many trees leaning over my house. I’ll write tomorrow when I get to Jackson. Lots of last minute stuff to do.

Don’t buy into the mob mentality panic from the southshore. Also if you want to get to Jackson before tomorrow night you might want to leave now. Last I heard it was taking 3 hours to get from downtown New Orleans to the foot of the twinspan and 1 1/2 hours to get from Kenner to Laplace.
If I was concerned I’d leave. I left for Katrina. I’m not leaving now.
