This was an actual letter sent to Kevin from an elderly person (name withheld). Your thoughts?

LOUSY JOB MR. DAVIS! You called a mandatory evacuation of ALL of St. Tammany Parish, resulting in the motels in Covington (above I-12) closing their doors and putting your residents on the street with nowhere to go during the storm. Those of us with pets have no choice. Our motel above I-12 in Covington (LaQuinta) canceled all reservations (after I had checked in), so we had no place of refuge. Holiday Inn, Marriott, etc. all are closing today. We are too old to travel far and I’m sure there are others in the same situation or with small children who can’t travel great distances.

I called the Emergency numbers and got NO SATISFACTION WHATSOEVER. None!

I never thought I’d say this, but take a look at New Orleans evacuating their residents AND THEIR PETS via buses, trains, etc. and here one of the richest parishes in the state couldn’t provide the same service to their residents.

We were fortunate that a friend offered to take my 84 year old husband, me and 3 dogs in. What else were we going to do? Thanks for nothing!

I AM ABSOLUTELY OUTRAGED AT THE WAY ST. TAMMANY AND MANDEVILLE HANDLED THIS STORM!!!!!

Where are all these people put out of their motels going to go now? Did you ever think of that? The insurance concerns of the motels kick in when you evacuate the entire parish!

I am disgusted.
