* warning – drinking and blogging going on here!!!!
* the whole fam damily headed out to the Mandeville Seafood Festival again. This night we had a mission, besides blowing cash spending money. We were going with “free passes” thanks to NOLA.com – woot woot – to see the fireworks!!!!
* We parked waaaaaay too far away once again and dragged the chairs – where were those golf cart shuttles??????
* We placed our chairs and blankets it in front of the ever growing crowd in front of the bandstand. We had a blast there, downed a few brewskis, hung with our friends, let the kids spend all our hard earned money and realized we are old!!!
* Now granted, when I was fairly sober and noticed the crowd…let’s just say EVERY walk of life was there
* When Jethro Tull and Pink Floyd songs were played and you start to look around and realize that your 10yo is the only one singing along with you (because you downloaded your songs on his ipod shuffle) – you feel your age
* as for the “little purple pill”…who doesn’t love things thrown from the stage – thanks Mistah!!! Well, when it is 1,000 Nexium coolers and you already have 15 in your lap – you start throwing them back and closing your eyes when your jock husband can land them on the stage!!!!
* Fireworks – fantabulous – great job!!!!! Big kudos and a Perry family thumbs up!
* port o’ potty – let’s just say – if you are 10 deep in a line – GET MORE!!!! Next year I wear adult diapers (just kidding and let that visual go please)!!!
* a special thanks to Papillion for putting on his pirate’s hat for me da’tr & Captain Jacque Pierre for showing her behind the scenes at the children’s cabin to see Boudreax the crawfish and the rest of the gang (she is rubbing it in to her brothers)!

  1. How about those Lagniappe fireworks? If you hung out a little while at the lakefront/festival to avoid the rush of traffic you got to catch a few extra minutes of fireworks that they apparently forgot to shoot. We think Boudreaux fell asleep (or had a few too many to drink) when it was his turn to fire his lot of fireworks.

The weather was great! The first year in 3 that I didn’t sweat my bootie off!
