Thank you so much Louisiana for making the first year of Operation Overseas Mardi Gras a huge success. As soon as we get pictures, they will be up on the website! I would also like to thank you in advance for stepping up to the plate and spreading the word about Soldiers’ Angels and/or volunteering your time and money to support our heroes! If you are already supporting the troops another way (there are other great organizations out there), again, thank you.

My humor is being put aside for this post while I bleg (blog beg), for you to become an Angel today. Having been the wife of a soldier (who is now retired), supporting heroes is my passion, my calling, my responsibility. We are having a big crisis at Soldiers’ Angels right now, we have more heroes wanting to be adopted than we have Angels willing to adopt them. This is where you step in and say, “Gosh, maybe I need to do more to support our men and women in uniform.”

Here are a few options for you:

1. Adopt a soldier today . We ask you to send a letter or card a week and 2 packages a month (they don’t have to be elaborate) for the length of the deployment (6-12 months). We even sell pre-packaged items at the Angel Store to make things easy for you.

2. img_2174.JPGA challenge to every Louisianan and homeowner association to buy at least one of these garden flags for just $13.50. For more information about the flags, click here.

3. Donate – we rely 100% on your generosity to make our all volunteer organization work as efficiently as it does. Click here to donate even a few dollars!

  1. I GOT IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so socks knocked off or however you say it right now from my meds and trying to work today as a zombie insomniac that I can’t do a single other thing – I can’t eat anything (else). I couldn’t even give my cat her medicine right and she got all wet and mad at me. But please come see my care package post tomorrow just as soon as I can do it.

    Queen of Angels.

I hope I haven’t scared you off by recent posts if you saw them. I’m still me.

And I hope very much that your recovery is going as smoothly as possible.

    Ahhhhhhh I don’t know what to say….

Be well and happy, and come visit tomorrow when I can think to write. (I did take pictures though. I thought I should first thing – while it lasts.)

Thank you so much you’re making me teary.
