For the past 3 years, Soldiers’ Angels has been a labor of volunteer love. My family stood by and supported me as I traveled a bunch and was often “Angeling” instead of tending to family business. My family bleeds red white and blue and for that I am so proud. Having my daughter being voted “Patriotic Student of the Month” tells me that my husband and I are doing something right. When I met Patti (the founder of Soldiers’ Angels) in April of 2006, she invited me to Walter Reed for the day. We had an instant bond and as the wife of a recently retired soldier, I was hooked on SA! Since then, I’ve been fortunate that Patti and the Board has believed in me enough to place me in leadership positions during my tenure.

The opportunities and experiences I have been given through SA have been life changing. However, as life and situations change, there are some difficult decisions we all must make. It is with deep regret that I have decided to step down from Soldiers’ Angels leadership. I have struggled with the my recent decision for some time and did not take it lightly. There are some other avenues I would like to pursue at this time and focus more on my family. I will never stop supporting the military and our veterans and will continue to be a part of Soldiers’ Angels, just in a different capacity. I want to take this time to thank all the wonderful Angels out there (you know who you are) who have touched my life and become a part of my angel family. To all the men and women who serve and served and their families, thank you for your sacrifices. It is an honor and privilege to be able to do my small part.

  1. Greta, I do not know you on a personal level..however you are inspiration to those of us all around you. The work you have done is unfounded for our soldiers. May you have great success on your new journey. Thank you for supporting our soldiers and veterans. Thank you for inspiring the rest of us!

  2. THANK YOU so much for your service with SA. I totally understand the hard decisions associated with stepping down from leadership positions. I have only been an “Angel” for a couple of years, and I know we have never met, but I can see how much sacrifice and dedication it takes to be an “Angel”, especially in leadership. God bless you, and I’ll see you around on the Forums. 😉

  3. You’ve always been an inspiration, and I’m sure will continue to be, even in ‘a different capacity’. Thank you, for all you’ve done 🙂 and I’m sure will still be doing!
