* The morning started with a ferocious gas smell in my laundry room. Within an hour, someone from ATMOS came and fixed it – and it didn’t cost a penny – yippee!

* I signed the kids up for the “try it once for free class” at the Young Chef’s Academy in the Rouse’s plaza in Mandeville. It is absolutely adorable in there and made me, “the anti-kitchen goddess” want to cook. Don’t worry, that urge soon passed! The owners and staff are enthusiastic and friendly and the kids couldn’t wait for me to leave. I think I have ruined my 2 oldest by letting them do whatever they want in the kitchen. They were not happy to only get to do a portion. My daughter loved it and really enjoyed eating the finished product. They offer a great birthday party package and have lots of specialty classes and programs throughout the year. They may even create a class for the 10-12 boys like mine who are hooked on The Iron Chef!

* I have written several posts in the past with my wish for a Sephora or Ulta store in the area. Well, I’m in heaven now. Two sisters opened About Face of Mandeville. It is in the Rouse’s plaza too, The store is very modern and inviting & get this….they have Bare Escentuals/Bare Minerals!!!! No more buying off e-bay. Go on in whether you are a makeup junkie or just a dabbler. You won’t be disappointed.

* What does a mom do with a spare hour and half without kids? Tackle 5 errands and go for a way overdue pedicure. US Nails sits on the corner of 190 & East Causeway. I enjoyed my pedicure and can’t wait to see the store renovations completed!
